DISTRICT YOUTH EVENT TO BE HELD AT PEARSON

The Capital District Youth won a pizza party at the Ocean City Youth Week-end in September. Pearson has been chosen as the site for this party that could be attended by youth from all 60 churches in our district.  The party is planned by the district leaders for

November 14th from 6 until 8 pm

UMYF:

UMYF  (United Methodist Youth Fellowship) is a group of young people grades 7-12.  All youth are welcome to join our family, you need not be a member of Pearson.  We meet during the school year, conduct fundraisers, community service projects and have a LOT of fun.  For information please contact Gloria (our Adult Leader).  Gloria can be reached at 609-888-1220 (until 2pm weekdays) or home 609-585-3895.  Feel free to leave a message at either phone number and Gloria will return your call promptly.

Regular meetings are held every second and fourth Sunday of the month immediately following services.  Remember all youth in grades 7 thru 12 are urged to participate!

Pearson Acolyte Team:

What is an "Acolyte"?

Well according to the Webster definition, it is "one who assists a member of the clergy in a liturgical service by performing minor duties".  There is nothing MINOR about our acolyte children!!  We see our acolytes on Sunday mornings greeting the congregation at the door and bringing the light of Christ into and out of the sanctuary, but were you aware that this group of young people seem to always be involved in activities together? They have formed a sort of junior youth group and could be seen at the Ranch Hope Bowl-a-thon, riding bike in the park, walking in the Walk for All Ages for the UM Homes, etc. They recently had their first over-night trip!!  Seaside was a BLAST!!  The group is lead by Joni Truch.  We currently have many active youth ranigng in the 3rd to 6th grade age range.  ALL Pearson youth in that age range are welcome to join - what a FUN bunch!!

Acolyte Schedule

All Pearson children are welcome to join, grades 3-6.

Sunday School:

Younger Children (k-5) 

The new Sunday School year begins every September, all youth ages K to 6th grade are welcome to attend.  Sunday School begins as soon as the children are excused from Children's Time during service (10am) and ends approximately 11:15. If you have any questions, please see Ginger Lattin or call the front office and leave a message for her.

Junior High (6-8)

The new Sunday School year begins every September, all youth ages 9th grade to 12th grade are welcome to attend.  Sunday School begins at 8:50am and ends at 9:40am.  Classes will be held in the youth group room under the church main office.  If you have question please see Corilynn, or call the church office and leave a message for her.
