2010 Communion Offerings
JAN - Blanket Program
Your generous donations raised $807.00
On Saturday we distributed a new blanket to each Food Pantry family thanks to your generous support. In these tough economic times, a gift of a warm blanket in the cold of winter is appreciated and hopefully will blanket each family with the love of Jesus. All funds received for this project above the actual cost of the distributed blankets will be applied a blanket project of UMCOR, helping in areas of the world where disaster has struck. Thank you for your very generous support!
FEB - Phone cards for military
Your generous donations raised $492.00
Phone Cards is for our military serving overseas. Each 120 minute phone card features the cross & flame of the United Methodist Church along with a statement that it is a gift of love from the people of the UM Church. When the card is used they hear a recorded prayer for their safety. Please be generous. Thank you.
MAR - Project Heifer
Your generous donations raised $537.00
MARCH COMMUNION OFFERING is for Heifer Project International. Your donations can help a family living in poverty to improve their lives by giving them the gift of an animal to provide the family with food and an income. These families are then expected to “pass the gift on” by giving the offspring of their animal to another family. Won’t you help another family to realize their dream of a brighter future?
APR - Water Development
Your generous donations raised $392.00
The April COMMUNION OFFERING is in support of Water Development in Nicaragua. Clean water and sanitation facilities are the building blocks of public health. UMCOR supports the work of ElPorvenir, a group that oversees community laborers helping poor communities build new wells and latrines. We can help provide a healthier environment for the families in rural Nicaragua by supporting this program.
MAY - UM Homes
Your generous donations raised $568.50
The May COMMUNION OFFERING is in support of the Fellowship Fund of the United Methodist Homes. This fund ensures that no person is asked to leave the Homes due to an inability to pay and there is no loss of services on their behalf. Please be generous. In May our Communion Offerings were for the Fellowship Fund of the UM Homes. You gave a total of $568.50 to this Fund. Thank you.
JUNE - Solar Energy Project
Your generous donations raised $570.00
The June Communion Offerings are designated for the UMCOR Solar Energy Project in Haiti where there is an extreme shortage of wood and charcoal for cooking. Solar energy has been developed as a promising alternative for cooking food and pasteurizing water. UMCOR provides the solar ovens and training in how to use them so that immediate savings can be realized. The goal of this fund is to provide 1000 solar ovens annually thru 2012 to Haitian communities where many of the families are malnourished. More than 2000 of these ovens are already in use reducing life threatening disease (from water-borne bacteria); reducing air pollution thru smokeless cooking; and stretching budgets that no longer need to include expensive cooking fuel. Please be generous as you give to this fund.
JULY - Native American Indian Fund
Your generous donations raised $699.00
Our July Communion Offerings are designated for the Oklahoma Native American Indian Project. Many native Americans live in rural, economically depressed areas living in poverty situations. This fund provides clothing, school supplies, medical attention and summer activities including vacation Bible school opportunities for the children of these families in need. Thank you for your support!

Our August Communion Offerings are designated for Nothing But Nets, a program to help eliminate death and suffering from malaria in Africa. 2010 Hungry Poor Offerings
ONGOING HUNGRY/POOR OFFERINGS:
2010 ADVANCE Offerings
The First Project for 2010 was the Medicine Box Project. Our goal was $1,000. to provide 2 complete boxes and the total given was $1,293. Thank you for your generous support.
Jan. - April is for the Medicine Box Program. Many clinics and hospitals in third world countries do not have basic medicines available on a regular basis. Through UMCOR medicine boxes provide necessary medication from Afghanistan to Zimbabwe. A typical medicine box contains 18 essential drugs and medical supplies-enough to treat illnesses and injuries in a population of about a thousand people for three months. A completed Medicine Box including antibiotics costs $500. Our goal is $1,000 to provide two boxes for those in need. In the first 5 weeks we have received $199. towards this goal. Please continue to support this project. Many of these medicine boxes are being directed to Haiti thereby depleting the supplies on hand. Thank you.
The SECOND Project for 2010 was HomeFront of Trenton. Total given was $867.00. Thank you for your generous support.
The Advance from May thru August is for HomeFront of Trenton. Home Front is committed to breaking the cycle of homelessness by helping families become self sufficient. Offerings for May and June will be given to general support providing food and housing to homeless families. During July and August we will again take part in the Back to School drive where we will provide 5 children with a complete set of clothes and school supplies for their first day of school.
SEPT THRU DEC: Susan Fuller
Sept. thru Dec. is for Susan Fuller, our United Methodist missionary serving orphaned children in the Russian Far East. Our goal is to provide $2500. in salary support so that she can continue her ministry there. Advance offerings to date plus the flea market give us $1601. towards this goal leaving $899. to raise by the end of December.
Sue Fuller Ministry
Please keep Sue Fuller and her ministry with the children in the orphanages of Russia in your prayers. Her love for the children is very REAL as she points them, thru her actions, to the love of our heavenly Father. Because of recent Visa requirements, Sue is working parttime as an English teacher at a private language school.
