Since 1857 Pearson has served the Lord in the community (originally known as Pearsonville), encompassing several areas of Mercer and Burlington Counties, in worship, Christian witness and service.
In 1857 residents of White Horse (Pearsonville) elected trustees to accept land given by Mary Hopkinson, descendant of Robert Pearson. Pearson had come from England in 1680 and purchased land extending from Crosswicks Creek to what is now Hamilton Square. He and his family are buried in the church graveyard. Upon incorporation, the church (at right) was known as "Mary's Chapel, Pearsonville". It is still often referred to as Pearsonville Church.

The original sanctuary photographed in 1898 (pictured above) was replaced by the present sanctuary/educational building in 1927. The photo taken in 1967 (lower right) portrays Pearson's sanctuary which has changed little since then. However, Pearson's organ originally built in 1893 was salvaged and rebuilt and enlarged at Pearson in 1973, a J.W. Steere & Son Tracker Organ, which has 1494 pipes.

The Church outgrew its space and in 1956 the current wing housing Willey Hall, the kitchen and several classrooms, was constructed. A new parsonage/office was added in 1968.Pearson continues to strive towards bringing others to God's house; towards acceptance of Christ as Savior; to being a Christian witness in the community; and to the serving of others.
